The Invasion of Zululand—0500hrs—11th Jan 1879 At 0500hrs on 11th January 1879, Lord Chelmsford gave the order to advance No: 3 Column across the Buffalo River and into Zululand. The objective on 11th January was to secure the enemy bank and tranfer all troops and supplies with transport. The photos in this section cover the crossing points of interest.
