Rorke’s Drift has always been the more famous of the Zulu War battlefields. I admit, my first 4 books I read about the Zulu War was on the battle at Rorke’s Drift. Then my interest grew. In particular, Ron Lock and Peter Quantrill then Lt Col Mike Snook have written excellent accounts and opinions on the subject of Isandlwana and I was hooked! I had to visit. I had to see the battlefields. I wanted to see the Isandlwana Battlefield and all the sites I have read about for years. Tahelane, Conical Hill, Ngwebini, Fugitives etc all spring to mind. Even now I can raise a smile when I remember my visits to such a special place. This is my attempt at helping fellow enthusiasts get a better picture and understanding of the area that covers the Battle of Isandlwana 1879. Enjoy!
